CHEEK & CHIN IMPLANTS

These are usually solid silicone implants that are placed over the apex of the cheek bone or the chin to enhance facial features. Far less common areas of enhancement are the midface region and along the jawbone. View past client photos.

Everyone’s face is different and in our practice we utilize computer imaging to identify the regions that need to be enhanced. It is true that “a picture is worth a thousand words.” Also, by utilizing imaging techniques, the patient may decide that no enhancement is indeed necessary.

The implants are usually placed behind the lining of the bone so that they will be held in a stable position. Postoperatively, there is minimal discomfort, but swelling may persist for as long as two to three months. Incisions are made with virtually no visible exterior signs. People usually need to be off of work for approximately one week to ten days because of bruising and swelling and restrict normal physical activities for as long as 2-3 weeks to prevent any complications from occurring.
